This Seminar will start on tuesday 18.04.2017 from 12:00 to 14:00 (cum tempore) in EW 114 (Eugene-Paul-Wigner-Gebäude) and will run until 18.07.2017.
In this seminar we are going to reflect the concept of digital identity. On how the Internet impacts and shapes our self-image, our identity – who we are. Not only will we study recent empirical research concerning this subject, we will also struggle our way through critical assessments. This course will therefore be combining academic resources from psychology, sociology, media theory and philosophy (presented under the guise of the new discipline called „Internet Studies“).
Students will be asked to keep a blog, read the texts, participate in the debate and finish this course with a group presentation. There is also the option to write an essay. All formal conditions will be explained during the first meeting on 18.04.2017, 12:00 in EW 114.
